Bacteriostatic Composite Carbon Block Filter is the next step above 0.5 micron carbon and serves well as a primary single filter or even as the final stage in a series of filters.

Silver-impregnated coconut shell activated carbon specifically designed for bacteriostatic properties and trace removal. It is manufactured from coconut shells by high-temperature steam activation under rigidly controlled conditions. The silver impregnation of carbon imparts bacteriostatic properties that inhibit bacterial growth on the carbon filter media. Silver exhibits a self-sterilizing properties an effective method for controlling microbial growth.

Silver Impregnated above the standard carbon is preferable due to the extra protection and microbiological safety it offers over the extended life of the filter as it is this bacterial growth, sediment and micro algae colonisation that limits the life and safe use of POU (Point Of Use) filters, the peace of mind that a safe 12 month is possible by this added protection while still maintaining the Premium Carbon Block Blend of a 0.5 micron carbon block.

This 0.5 micron Bacteriostatic Composite Carbon Block Filter is also fine enough to block Cryptosporidium, Giardia and Lead.
